There is little doubt that Cancer types can be very difficult
to get to understand. At best, they can be kind, affable,
helpful, nurturing and thoughtful however they can also
be, temperamental, moody, short and snappy. Sometimes,
willing to listen with great empathy to others problems
and do what they can to help out or alternatively they
will be completely disinterested. Deep down they fear
ridicule and can over react to a simple comment. They
can be protective and defensive, particularly when it
comes to their material possessions or home environment
and they will withdraw into their protective shell should
they find themselves in hostile situations. They are capable
of giving the impression of self assurance and toughness
while actually being very hurt. They very often collect
and hoard things that become treasured memories.
They have a strong need for material and emotional security
and will actively make it happen. They have a great sense
of responsibility for others. They can be canny investors
and they pay their bills on time and expect you to do
the same.
The Cancerian strong family bonds may create a clannish
mentality and they become courageous when family or loved
ones are threatened. They can be more manipulative than
the Scorpion who is known to be the master of manipulation,
so be careful. Their particular brand of manipulation
uses emotional blackmail to perfection.
Mentally they can be shrewd, intuitive and receptive
and possess a retentive memory. Their emotions will always
colour their thoughts.
Relationships provide a source of nourishment for our Cancer
folk and they give so much of themselves in a relationship.
If they go wrong they will be bitterly disappointed and
become despondent. They can be very possessive and jealous
in relationships and may have a tendency to smother their
partners or children. They are widely sentimental and
delightfully romantic often reflecting on their courtship
days when love was euphoric.
