The Future of Business
There are moments in business when you have all the information in front of you and still don’t know what to do next. The numbers have been analyzed, the strategic plan has been written, the opportunities have been identified, your advisers may have given you sound advice, and your experience tells you that something needs to happen. Yet one important question remains: when is the right time to act?
When is the right time to move forward, launch, expand, restructure, or consolidate? When should you push harder, and when would you be wiser to hold your position? When is the business genuinely ready for change, even if everything on paper suggests that change should have happened yesterday?
For business owners and organizational leaders, these questions are not abstract. Their decisions affect people, resources, growth, investment, and sometimes the organization’s future.
We have become very good at gathering information to help us make decisions. We have financial forecasts, strategic planning models, market research, economic indicators, performance data, artificial intelligence, and more dashboards than most of us know what to do with. All these tools have value, yet one dimension of strategy rarely gets the attention it deserves: Timing.
Traditional business strategy focuses largely on what we should do and how we should do it. I believe another question deserves an equal place at the strategic table.
When is the right time to act?
This question is at the heart of The Future of Business.
